Help for parents during the transition of sending a child off to school. At a Christian college, the aim is to build on the disciplines and values that you have fostered in them while they were at home. They want you to be able to support and encourage your college student in their growth and maturity during this important time in their lives.
Speak with your student for the opportunity to reduce the likelihood they will experience the negative consequences associated with binge drinking.
Talk to your student on firmly deciding not to ride with someone who has been drinking.
Great verses for you and your child on safety and learning:
Ps 91:9-12 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. [NIV]
Isaiah 54:13 All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace. [NIV]
Isaiah 11:2-3 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—
3 and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.
He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
or decide by what he hears with his ears; [NIV]
Luke 2:52 And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and men. [AMP]
Phil 1: 6 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. [NIV]
